Date with Nate

Today Nate and I went on a date to Old City Cemetery. Cool place. Nate said his fave parts were swinging on the swing together and discovering that the frog he and I thought was real, was actually fake!!! We had a precious time together. I told him my favorite part was just being with him. Times one on one are so precious. Sunday afternoons are the new date day at the Dalys. Hoping that setting aside that day will make our dates happen more regularly. Next week is Mark and Levi. Hopefully they will take pictures on their adventure.

Reformation Celebration Costumes

Our Reformation Celebration is held this time every year. This year they asked that the kids would dress in time period costumes or Biblical characters. Last minute we were able to go b/c it was rescheduled so I decided to get the kids together something to wear. Maryann went as a beautiful maiden and all I had to was braid her a headpiece with tulle and ribbon and silk flowers. Doesn't she look sweet?? And the I decided to make monk costumes in honor of the great former monk and reformer, Martin Luther. They weren't great, but turned out cute. Well, to my surprise the boys won a 25 dollar gift certificate to Toys R Us for their costumes. I was so excited. We had a great night of eating, fellowshipping and just plain fun for all.

Halloween Costumes handmade by Nana

My mom made the kids the Halloween costumes of their choice. Maryann, was a very darling Mary or Little Bo Peep. (Karli was the lamb but no picture here) Norah, a ladybug and a very cute one at that. Nathan and army guy and Levi , Flash!! They loved them and they were made with so much hard work and especially love. THANK YOU MOM!!!!

Johnson's Apple Orchard

One Thursday afternoon recently, we took a field trip with families from our Friday Arts and Fun classes. We went to Johnson's Orchard. It was a great time of learning about apple trees, seeing how apple butter and apple cider used to be made and picking our own apples. We left with lots of apples that got eaten, made into apple sauce, apple caramel jam, apple crisp muffins and one that even made it into our toilet to clog it and overflow it!!! Lol!! (Oh, we carpooled with some sweet friends Dana and her kids! Christian and Emme are with my kids in the pictures and that is Dana with me.)

The Pumpkin Patch!!!

Not going to write too much for each post...This was the pumpkin patch on the day they had for homeschool families...the kids pick and painted pumpkins, jumped on the "jumpies" and had a great time with the Blankenship and Ohler girls. And the one picture of me is the with my favorite Ohler girl, Marissa.

Oh my word, Where do I begin??

Well, let's just say I am kind of busy and I am a terrible blogger. BUT, I would so like to be better which seems to be the theme of every set of posts I make. BUT I also have a card reader on this computer on the main level now and I can upload pictures while managing the affairs of my household and not having to go down to the bottom level of the house. Usually when I get down there for longer than 4 min. some little turkey comes screaming to me about somebody hitting them, somebody needs their hiney wiped or "I just was looking everywhere for you Mommy"... Maybe I will be better with this new set up...MAYBE NOT! Lol! I can hope.

I love my life as a mom, but I have been so bogged down lately feeling so overwhelmed with the task I face each day. Mothering five little ones, schooling 3 (a preschooler, a Kindergartener, and a 1st/2nd grader), keeping up on the housework, cooking, and the LAUNDRY!! Yikes. That one is a beast for me. Well. There is good news!!!!!!! I always heard of the scripture in the Bible, "those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength"...it always sounded so nice and pretty to me, but I didn't REALLY know what that meant practically for me. So as I have felt so burdened with my life lately, I needed to call on the Lord and ask for the strength. I told the Lord that I was waiting on Him to renew my strength and for Him to please do it. AND YOU KNOW WHAT?? He is such an amazing and faithful God. SOMEHOW in His awesome and inexplicable way, He has refreshed me and renewed my strength for the task. Given me new strength and new joy for my journey. I am so thankful for a God who hears and keeps His promises to His children. If you need strength today, call on the only ONE who can really truly renew your strength. THE LORD GOD, Creator of the universe, the One Who made you!! Oh He is good! Thank you Lord. I continue to wait on You to renew my strength again and again!

A Show at the Dalys

The other night the kids decided to get out the keyboard and put on a little dancing show for us. It was the BEST show I ever saw, really. I was so enjoying it!!!!! The danced to all these pre-recorded songs on the keyboard and had partners, one brother with one sister. It was great fun!!!!
I hope to see many more of these shows in the coming days!!! What a fun thing to be a mom and to have such wonderful kiddos!!
Here's a little clip...I missed the best parts, hope to get a better clip for next time!!!!

Our Little Big Pool

Well, after years of talking about it, I finally convinced Mark that it would be a good idea to get a bigger pool. So Mom-Mom and Pappy bought the kids what was supposed to be a 36 in by 12 ft pool. After much trial for my poor hubby Mark, we got the ground leveled and the pool filled only to find that it was a 24 in by 10 ft pool...big bummer, or little bummer if you want to look at it that way, since it was smaller than we had anticipated. We didn't have our receipt and we didn't really want to dump all that water out, so we decided to keep it. It is working out nicely since it is small enough for all four of the kids to go in (Karli can't yet!). They are enjoying it. Even Mark...I have not gotten to go in yet, though I am planning on it when I can get away from my housework and caring for the little lovebug! Thanks Mom-Mom and Pappy!

Just looking at my good friend Angela's blog, has motivated me to try to blog again. I just sit around and do nothing but eat bon-bons most days, so I thought why not!! (if you believe that one, I some land to sell you on the moon!LOL!) But seriously, she has the cutest and most creative blog, and so I have been spurred on to try to post every now and then on my own blog. My first one back was earlier today as I was entering a contest (from Angela's blog) to win a really cute clothespin apron...and that is so appropriate since just last week I started hanging my clothes outside to try, in hopes of saving money but rarely using my dryer.
Well as the picture for my first official post back since March, is the newest addition to our precious family, Little Karli Evangeline - our darling little lovebug!!!!! What a joy she is!!! Thank you, Lord!

Trying to Win This Apron!!!!!

March 17, Saint Patrick's Day @ the Daly's!

We were supposed to have a party with our neighbors the
weekend before, but sickness caused us to cancel. So
instead we partied ourselves on the 17th!  We had a
great time.  That is green Kool-aid the boys are "cheersing"
with!!

We did green everything...applesauce, potatoes, drink,
plates, napkins, clothes, balloons...it was fun.  Mark read to us
about the real Saint Patrick who was a follower of our
great God . We had such a fun night together!!!!
We ended the night with GREEN milkshakes
too! I think that was everyone's favorite!
Except me, I can't really eat icecream. But
I can make a mean mint milkshake!!!

Mark was hungry!! LOL!!!

Love this gorgeous picture of them both...especially
my honey, Mark!

Cutie Levi, with his newest pose, the thumbs up in
every picture, well almost.
Two little Leprechans, Maryann and Levi.

Nathan looks hilarious to me here~

LOVE HIM!!!

Me and Norah Gail!!!

Doesn't she look so precious?
 I love her big
smile!!!!
